Blogging for bux

Anyone making a few dollars on their blog out there? I'm wondering if it's worth cluttering up my sidebar for the sake of pennies. If it's a few dollars (or more, of course) then I would seriously consider it. I see lots of BlogHer ads on blogs. Anyone with one? Or other ads? Worth it? I don't know much about google adsense, but for some reason I don't want to do that one. I don't know why, just bad vibes I think.
